OCX files are component files that are continually used to help your applications read all the important settings required to help perform a number of important tasks on your system, including everything from loading up Printer settings to integrating the application into various other applications on your system. We’ve found that although Flash.ocx is a very important file inside your PC, it’s continually being corrupted & damaged – leading to a large number of problems for your system.

What Causes Flash.ocx Errors On Your PC?

The Flash.ocx errors that you have on your PC are generally going to be caused by the way in which your computer will not be able to correctly read all the important settings that are required for this piece of software to run. Flash.ocx is part of the Flash Player, and is therefore used continually on your system when you visit various web pages and try to open up “Flash Based Applications”.

There are a number of causes of Flash.ocx errors, including:

  • This file will be damaged / corrupted
  • The Flash Player application on your system will be corrupted or unreadable
  • Windows will have some “registry errors” preventing the file from being read

How To Fix Flash.ocx Errors On Your PC

Step 1 – Re-Install Flash Player On Your Computer

“Flash Player” is the application that uses the Flash.ocx file. Although it’s a highly popular program, Flash Player is continually causing a huge number of crashes & errors for your PC thanks to the way in which it will likely become unreadable or damaged. If you want to repair any of the errors that Flash Player has, it’s recommended that you reinstall Flash Player on your PC, which can be done by following the steps below:

  • Click “Start
  • Select “Control Panel” & locate “Add / Remove Programs
  • From the list of programs, select “Adobe Flash Player”
  • Click the “Remove” button
  • Follow the uninstall procedure to remove the applications from your system
  • Restart your PC and then re-install the programs that your system will have

Step 2 – Re-Install Your Web Browsers

Since Flash Player is used by the web browsers of your system, it’s important that you are sure these applications are working correctly. To do this, it’s advisable that you re-install any of the “third party” web browsers (Internet Explorer cannot be uninstalled) that you have on your computer, which can be done by following the steps:

  • Click “Start
  • Select “Control Panel” & locate “Add / Remove Programs
  • From the list of programs, select “FireFox” or “Chrome” or “Safari”
  • Click the “Remove” button
  • Follow the uninstall procedure to remove the applications from your system
  • Restart your PC and then re-install the programs that your system will have

This will basically refresh any of the files / settings that your web browsers will be looking to use (which will include the Flash.ocx file), meaning that if you want to resolve any of the problems that your browsers may have, performing the steps outlined above is crucial. However, if you perform this and find that the programs are still causing problems, it’s advisable that you repair the registry as directed below:

Step 3 – Clean Out The Registry Of Windows

The “registry” of your PC is a central database which keeps all the important settings & options for your system safe. This database stores all sorts of important settings, from your Desktop Wallpaper to your most recent emails, but is also where a large list of “DLL & OCX” files are kept for your system. These files are continually being used to help Windows read all the files it requires to run… and is continually being used by the Flash Player application to run. If you’re seeing Flash.ocx errors, it will most likely be caused by some issue with the registry of your system, making it essential that you’re able to repair any of the issues your PC may have in this database.
