NVIDIA is one of the most popular graphics cards today. A lot of computer users prefer NVIDIA video cards because of their high quality and reliability. However, sometimes NVIDIA Control Panel Display Properties Extension starts causing various errors. This extension gets installed together with NVIDIA graphics cards and can be the reason for nvcpl.dll errors. When nvcpl.dll can’t be loaded, you will get a pop-up error message saying that “Nvcpl.dll Not Found” or “Cannot find nvcpl.dll”. At this point, your screen can go black and you will have to use the Windows Safe Mode to be able to use your PC. Not a good scenario. So, here are a couple of things that will help you fix this problem.
1. Update your graphics card driver
The first thing you should do if you start getting NVIDIA errors is to update or reinstall your graphics card driver. To do that, start your computer in Safe Mode (tap F8 on reboot and select the Safe Mode option). When your PC boots in Safe Mode, uninstall your video card driver and install the most recent NVIDIA drivers. Reboot your computer in Normal Mode and everything should work fine.
2. Download and replace the missing nvcpl.dll file
Another way to fix nvcpl.dll error is to replace the missing or corrupt DLL with the most recent version of the file. You can download the latest version of nvcpl.dll from DLL download websites.
3. Apply a registry fix
In addition to following the previous steps described in this article, it’s highly recommended to apply a registry fix. Missing, empty or corrupted registry entries can cause a number of computer problems, including NVIDIA errors.
