Step 1 – Restart Your PC Into “Safe Mode With Networking”

To even work on your PC, you need to first restart your computer into “Safe Mode With Networking”. Safe Mode is a setting that Microsoft introduced to help your computer load up without any of the software / drivers which can be causing problems. Because the issue you’re seeing has been caused by the nv4_disp.dll file not working correctly, restarting into Safe Mode will basically allow you to work on your PC without the error occurring.

To restart into Safe Mode, you should do the following:

  • Restart your PC
  • Press F8 continually before Windows has a chance to load
  • Select “Safe Mode With Networking” from the menu
  • Let your system load up

Step 2 – Update Your NVidia Graphics Driver
