
Most likely, computer maintenance isn’t your top priority. Nevertheless, it should be done once in a while to keep your PC running fast and stable. Your computer works hard and all this work can make it seem tired. Doing these five things will help you revive your sluggish PC and keep it at peak performance.
1. Eliminate memory leaks
Memory leaks occur when buggy programs on your computer start to steal your PC’s memory. This usually happens with Beta versions of browsers like Firefox and poorly developed software. If you see that your computer is slowing down without any apparent reason, press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to go to the Task Manager, go to the Processes tab and sort your running processes by memory usage. You will immediately see if a program is using too much memory. If you find a memory leak, try stopping and restarting the program that’s causing it. Chances are that it’s just a glitch. But if it persists, look for an update on the developer’s website – companies like Mozilla always try to release timely updates.
